Elizabeth Llongueras M. Ed.
Director of Operations
Ms. Llongueras began her career in education at the age of 6 while working with her
younger sister who has Down’s Syndrome. Her passion for education and equality was
instilled by her mother, but her passion for recent immigrants was fueled by the fact
that once upon a time she was a child who arrived in the United States without speaking
a word of English. In 1988, Ms. Llongueras earned a bachelor’s degree in business
administration simultaneously completing her teaching certification in bilingual
education. During her 29 year tenure with the Brownsville Independent School District
she held many roles but none that took her too far from the immigrant students who
are her first true love. After receiving her master’s degree in Guidance & Counseling
from the University of Texas at Brownsville, she had the privilege to work as the
bilingual counselor for Brownsville ISD, and it was there that she began her work with
foreign transcript evaluations and saw firsthand the power of validating the education
students brought from their native countries.
